Where is NVSA?

Northern Valley Sports Academy is located at 100 Oakland Ave in Closter, NJ. NVSA is a 20,000 sq. ft. air-conditioned indoor facility featuring a state-of-the-art turf field, basketball court, art room & indoor playground!

When is camp?

Pre-Summer Camp: June 9th- June 20th.

Summer Camp: June 23rd- August 29th (no camp 7/4).

Post-Summer Camp: September 2nd-September 5th (no camp 9/1).

What are the hours?

Pre & Post-Summer Camp Hours (9am-3pm | 9am-12:30pm | 12pm-3pm)

Regular Summer Camp Hours: (9am-4pm | 9am-12:30pm | 12pm-4pm)

What is the difference between Pre/Post Summer Camp & Regular Summer Camp?

The main difference between pre/post summer camp and regular summer camp is that pre/post summer camp concludes at 3 PM, while regular camp ends at 4 PM. Additionally, campers will not participate in water sprinklers or foam parties during pre/post summer camp.

Do you offer a half-day option?

Yes, we do offer morning & afternoon half-day options.

Pre & Post Summer Camp:

  • Morning Half Day: 9am-12:30pm

  • Afternoon Half Day: 12pm-3pm

Regular Summer Camp:

  • Morning Half Day: 9am-12:30pm

  • Afternoon Half Day: 12pm-4pm

Please note that half-day campers may not always participate in special shows & events.

Do you offer Extra care?

NVSA offers before and after care.

Pre & Post-Summer Camp Extra Care hours: 8am-9am + 3pm-4:30pm

Summer Camp Extra Care hours: 8am-9am + 4pm-5:30pm

Is Single Day Registration available?

Yes, single day registration is available! To register for single days, please add the entire week of camp to your cart. From there, a drop down menu will appear, allowing you to select single days of camp to register for.

How many camp weeks do I need to register for?

There is no minimum amount of weeks needed. Parents may select any combination of weeks, from a single days to multiple weeks. Selected days/weeks do not need to be consecutive.

How old are NVSA campers?

Our campers range in age from 3 to 12 years old. If your child is not yet 3 but will be in time for the summer, please call us to register, as the software will not allow you to do it online. Campers are grouped by age and are assigned counselors that travel with their group throughout the day.

What is a typical day like?

NVSA is a 20,000 square foot climate-controlled facility featuring a state of the art turf field, basketball court, indoor playground, & art room. NVSA’s camps are action-packed with sports activities, traditional camp games, special events, art projects, foam parties & so much more!

Are lunch & snack included?

Yes! Lunch and morning and afternoon snacks are included! Lunch is catered from Giovanni’s Bicycle Club located in Englewood Cliffs.

What if my child has to take medication or has an Epi-Pen?

If your child requires an Epi-Pen, please bring that with them along with a note from a doctor stating it is prescribed to them. We have staff who are trained on premises to use Epi-Pens. Unfortunately, we are unable to administer other medications to campers. Parents are welcome to administer medication to their children during the camp day.

Where can I see photos of my child at camp?

Photos taken at the camp are sent out weekly in a Google Drive.

What does my child need to wear & bring to camp?

Everyday:

All Campers: Comfortable clothes & sneakers. Water bottles are not recommended as we have water coolers throughout the facility.

Campers 6 and Under: Change of clothes (Shirt, pants/shorts, socks, & underware).

Tuesday & Thursday:

Swimsuit, flip flops/water shoes, sunscreen, and towel. Please send your children to camp already changed in their bathing suit.

Please label all items and avoid sending valuables with your child, as NVSA is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Who are the counselors?

Our camp staff is made up of teachers, coaches, college students, and a handful of high school students. All staff undergoes a mandatory background check. Our camp operates at an 8:1 ratio. There are always at least two staff members on-premises daily that are CPR/AED trained & EpiPen trained.

Can I tour the facility?

Is transportation available?

Unfortunately, we do not offer transportation.

How much does camp cost?

Single Full Day = $135

Single Half Day = $95

1 Week Full Day = $575

1 Week Half Day= $415

Extra Care: $45 per day

Camp single day prices will raise $15 a day one week before the start date. Register early!

What is the drop off/pick up procedure?

Pre & Post Summer Camp: Drop-off will begin at 8:45am and pick up will begin at 2:45pm.

Regular Summer Camp: Drop-off will begin at 8:45am and pick up will begin at 3:45pm.

Drop off and pick up will be done in our carpool line which forms in our parking lot.

Please enter the parking through HOMANS AVE and exit onto OAKLAND AVE.

Parents/Caregivers, DO NOT LEAVE your vehicles & please pull up as close to the car in front of you as possible. If you need to walk your child in, please park in our parking lot across the street. Parents will not be able to exit the car in our carpool line. Please no not make a left turn when exiting our parking lot during camp hours. This will help speed up the process.

*If you are dropping off your child earlier than the scheduled pick-up time or later than the drop-off time please make us aware so we can arrange for an NVSA staff member to meet your child in the parking lot.

Does my child need to submit medical registration forms?

Yes! All campers must have completed medical registration forms with updated immunization records. Forms are due at least four weeks before your child starts camp. If you sign up for camp less than four weeks before your start date your forms are due immediately. Campers will not be permitted to attend camp without their health records. They are state mandated.

What is your Behavior Policy?

Children are expected to behave the same way they would in a school environment.

Bullying is not tolerated at NVSA and our staff has been trained to identify and prevent bullying behavior. If a child engages in outbursts, physical/verbal abuse to other NVSA campers/staff, NVSA has the right to remove that child from camp. We will do our best to work with your family to prevent removal from camp.

What is your Refund Policy?

If you would like to cancel your registration at least 60 days prior to your first day of camp you can be granted a full monetary refund (minus a 5.9% service charge for transactions made with a credit card). Alternatively, you can receive a full NVSA monetary credit, valid for one year. This credit is only valid for NVSA run clinics, NVSA camps and the Playbox (does not apply to birthday parties, private lessons, rentals).

If you need to cancel your registration less than 60 days prior to your first day of camp, we can offer summer camp make up credits. These credits can be used to attend another day of Summer Camp 2025. Please note that these credits will expire at the end of the summer. If you are already signed up for all remaining days of summer camp, the validity of this credit will be extended throughout the Fall 2025 session. Any summer camp make up credits issued during the last two weeks of summer camp will also be valid within the Fall 2025 session.

Please also note, we must be notified at least 24 hours prior to your absence in order to qualify for any form of credit.
